A Place For Poetry: Part 4

Tag

If life’s a game,

It needs a flag,

Some wavy name,

Let’s call it Tag,

#######

The chase of her,

All sunshine fine,

It lets you dream,

Content is mine,

#######

But then this rule,

There is no bliss,

And life plays on,

In one last kiss,

########

Or what of he,

All kind and sage,

You joined that game,

Ignored his age,

#######

And then he went,

No time to claim,

The field is empty,

Except for pain,

########

Life is a sport,

But gather near,

There’s extra rules,

That you must hear,

########

There is a way,

To take the heart,

And mend each break,

Find freshest start,

#######

Just play again,

With her or he,

Present your pain,

For them to see,

#######

Tell them the truth,

Or lie with care,

Say in this game,

It’s only fair,

########

I take my hurt,

Each every bit,

And pass it on,

Cause Tag you’re it.
