Spun:
A spider wove,
A web one-day,
She had so much,
She had to say,
#######
She spun with vigor,
And righteous glee,
As crowds did gather,
Just to see,
And soon her message,
Was nodded true,
For there was nothing,
One could do,
For all had come,
And did agree,
"Now why would a spider,
Ever lie to me?"
Her web began,
To grow and grow,
As her message,
Soon did show,
That the notion,
Of ancient sin,
Should be a phrase,
Never said again,
For love did conquer,
That old vice,
Love is beauty,
Warm and nice,
It changes all,
From wrong to right,
Love is now,
The new delight,
The spider spun,
With greater strength,
Took on length,
And soon it wove,
The crowd so tight,
As people marveled,
At the sight,
For it was relief,
Not to care,
To think, or move,
To breathe, or share,
The spiders' message,
Was all around,
No question to it,
Could be found,
For all were glad,
Next did murder,
Join the fray,
The spider wrote,
That it was gray,
Life could be precious,
And valued high,
But in some places,
It was only a lie,
In certain spots,
Life was a choice,
A silent problem,
A secret voice,
The spider said,
“See this as true,”
And the crowd went along,
As if everyone knew,
You had to smile,
And agree,
Was always heard,
It became each every,
Unwritten word,
The spider spun more,
This time about money,
About how the rich,
Were odd and quite funny,
She said it wrong,
To try and earn,
That those with much money,
Must feel spurn,
The rich ruled the world,
With malevolent glee,
On the backs of the poor,
Oh just can’t you see,
So the poor should sit back,
And have only fun,
Shackled to spider,
And all whom she spun,
And the crowd did smile,
And had to agree,
Her web soon expanded,
Around every life,
Bound husbands, the children,
Bound pets and each wife,
It took all TV,
And newspapers with ease,
The truth was the spiders,
To use as she pleased,
She spun about love,
About murder and shame,
She said it was others,
Who were mostly to blame,
Her message was words,
Of give your freedom to me,
And the crowd was quite willing,
To quickly agree,
They were slaves to her web,
And her now quite rich thread,
Could do nothing at all,
Except whatever she said,
For the spider kept spinning,
Around and around,
As happiness left,
And never was found,
But the crowd only smiled,
With a wink and a nod,
They understood it a sorrow,
This road that they trod,
For the world was her web,
And you had to agree,
