Poem: (She Chooses)
The land was fine,
And hers to use,
To treat however,
She did choose,
#######
It was her own,
And her right,
To treat as gift,
Or just a blight,
And so she danced,
Thought not at all,
Of how her fun,
Might lead to fall,
Until the day,
There was a guest,
A hidden friend,
Who needed rest,
But still the land,
Was hers and right,
Or even blight,
So if surprise,
Was suddenly there,
Why couldn’t she kill it,
Why wasn't that fair,
The one problem then,
Was if it were real,
The guest staying hidden,
And she could just feel,
She did notice some kicking,
Against her fair walls,
Even some tumbles,
And all her guests falls,
But still lay a doubt,
Of if this was true,
If she couldn’t see,
What could she do,
######
She got doctors of science,
And men of degree,
To prod her dear land,
To see what they see,
Some said that the guest,
Had life of adults,
It had entered her place,
But had no true faults,
It moved and it shook,
And responded to pain,
They called that dear guest,
By the shortest of names,
They said it was life,
All precious and strong,
So to keep it was right,
All else would be wrong.
But others did yell,
This wasn't quite true,
There was something else,
For the woman to do,
########
Sure the guest in her land,
Moved round and around,
But it never quite made,
The most audible sound,
It stayed very quiet,
And kept out of sight,
So who was to say,
That it was alright,
And who was to tell,
What she should choose,
It was her right,
To let that guest loose,
So whatever she wanted,
Well that was just fine,
And it was on her land,
All of the time,
#########
It had also arrived,
Quite unexpected,
So it shouldn't be shocked,
If it got rejected,
And the girl who had thought,
She knew her desire,
Realized she was nothing,
More than a liar,
She'd thought it so easy,
To end something not real,
But she couldn’t deny,
All she could feel,
But still she did miss,
All the dance and the fun,
And knew quite for sure,
What had to be done,
She decided a choice,
Was all she could take,
Whether to carry unexpected,
Or a tragic mistake.
